On-call Substitute at ISP

On-call Substitute Teachers have a profound impact on the lives of our students. When a teacher has a planned or unplanned absence, we rely on a skilled substitute to fill in. In this role, the substitute will adhere to the day’s lesson plan and ensure that students have a fulfilling learning experience.

• Reports to: Division Principal and Administrative Assistant of the Division.
• Collaborates closely with: Academic department of the division.

Responsibilities: General tasks that including but are not limited to:

• Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher for whom you are substituting.
• Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
• Take attendance and document daily notes.
• Compile a report for the teacher for when they return.
• Meets classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Establishes order in the classroom and maintains an environment conducive to effective learning.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment and facilities. Efficiently manages the classroom, the instructional materials and equipment therein.

What you will do: Day-to-day tasks

• Reports to the principal or other designee at the beginning and end of the school day.
• Maintains standards of students' behaviors in school abiding by the behavior code of conduct.
• Helps maintain general order in the hallways and school grounds, supervise the area as scheduled in the duty schedule or the classroom during rainy days; escorts students to or from special classes.
• Releases the students at the end of the day and during recess at the assigned time.
• Arrives in the assigned division/area by 7:15 a.m. daily and does not leave before 3:15pm.
• Maintains accurate records of students. Keeps daily attendance and records tardy arrivals.
• Shows professionalism in your interactions with students, colleagues and parents; in the way you dress, portray yourself and behave during school hours.
